Agnes Friedrich, aka Agnesiv, born in Würzburg, is an artist, fashion & textile designer from Berlin. She completed her fashion at Esmod Berlin in 2009 studies. Since then, Agnes has been designing fabric samples for international fashion brands, organizing the celebrated runway shows of the sustainability fair Neonyt and other fairs. She favors bright, flowing colors and structures and patterns with enervating black and white forms. Agnes Friedrich also creates campaigns and art projects with photographers and artists as stylists.
During the first lockdown, Agnes Friedrich moved from Berlin to the countryside in the Uckermark. There she planted a permaculture garden where she studied the structures of leaves and branches, the color gradients of fruits and flowers, and their growth and decay. With her more recent involvement with permaculture, she combines creative design approaches with the themes of sustainability, fair production, and resource conservation. The digital translation of these relationships into moving works triggers endless possibilities. Her observations led to Quadrophonie.

The origins of the artwork ‘Quadrophonie’ are 4 individual paintings that can be reformed in 256 “possibilities” and were displayed as an interactive installation at Widerkunst in the Holzmarkt Berlin in 2020. A mechanism allows the four images to be rotated and thus recombined, looking to abolish the usual way of looking at pictures. This originally analog piece recreates itself in the digital realm where the combinations can be displayed. Agnes Friedrich expresses her fascination and love for how individual beings and things in motion always make a whole in many different ways.
