AGNES FRIEDRICH is an artist and fashion and textile designer based in Berlin with a long history in the sustainable fashion movement.

The origins of the artwork ‘Quadrophonie’ are 4 individual paintings that can be reformed in 256 “possibilities”, and were displayed as an interactive installation at Widerkunst in the Holzmarkt Berlin, in 2020. A mechanism allows the four images to be rotated and thus recombined; looking to abolish the usual way of looking at pictures.

This originally analogue piece recreates itself in the digital realm where the combinations can be displayed. Agnes Friedrich expresses her fascination and love for the way how individual beings and things in motion always make a whole in many different ways.
